Christopher Kimball's Milk Street (177 Milk Street)
Senior Software Engineer | Full-stack
Lead engineer on the new Q&A Discussion Forum for the Milk Street subscriber platform (Next.js, Sanity CMS, Cloudflare D1). Designed the Sanity schema for questions and answers, built the subscriber-gated submission flow and authenticated Q&A API, the CMS-driven index, category, and answer-detail pages, and a category filtering system with nested /discussion/<category>/<slug> routing and legacy-URL redirects. Built a server-side moderation proxy that keeps the moderation secret off the client, with Data-Cache'd, tag-revalidated comment reads backed by Cloudflare D1, plus CDN caching rules and bounded read-cache TTLs. Shipped the whole forum behind a soft-launch feature flag with cookie-based preview, alongside subscription and auth fixes (Omeda logout session clearing, promotion-key persistence) and the expired-subscription bar and modal on the Ask page.
